CSI2130 Fatal Application Error

When I turned on my CSI2130 this morning I got this error code Application Route2.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. I get this message every time I try to go to a route. Does anyone have an idea on getting this reset?

Program : Route2.exe

Exception : 0xC0000005

Address : 00046AB0

Did Emerson give any suggestions as a possible repair?

They usually are fairly good about meter's firmware replacement.

Do you have a disk containing the firmware so you can remove the firmware from the meter and then reinstall it?

Have you done a search to see if there is a file in your ComputerSoftware's "sys folder" to see if there is a file named "Route2.exe"?

Did you ask Emerson where the "Route2.Exe" file is actually located?

As far as your question, "But why it is crash, it is mystery?", have you been around any static electricity which might have hit your meter.

Like I said earlier, "Route2.Exe" is referring to a file that executes or starts a program. The firmware may have such a file inside its firmware but I would look in my sys file to see if there is one there also.

Does this error message happen when you are connected to the computer or when you just try to open a route which is already loaded into your meter and you are not connected to the computer.

"Route2" may be referring to a certain route in your meter that is corrupt. Can you remove previously loaded routes from you meter one at a time in an effort to see if there is a corrupt route loaded.

Does this error occur with routes loaded on the internal "card" or when loaded on an external "card"?

Thanks and Have a Great Day,

Ralph

Hi Ralph.

Thanks for prompt feedback to the issue previously.

FYI, I am doing job offshore when the Analyzer had a problem. Suspected as firmware crash, anyhow Emerson need to look at it to troubleshoot. So no on-site possible repair at that time that I can do. I need to replace with other available unit.

I already search for Route2.exe file in sys folder & custdata folder, unfortunately it is not found. This counter-measure also has been proposed by some of my friends that use CSI analyzer since I am in offshore.

As your concern, no static electricity or anything that made the firmware crash.

This error happen when I want to load route into the analyzer, then this message appear. After that, route function cannot be access anymore. I also do not understand what is illegal operation stated in the message.

If this problem we said originating from software error (AMS) or laptop that have this software, but why the next analyzer that I am using is okay when i am loading a same route.

That is why I am going into firmware malfunction. Other function likes Analyze, Balancing, Alignment still can be access.

I cannot access only a route function, that is why I am stuck to perform anything. I am not sure is it internal card or external, but I guess all the route in my analyzer is loaded into internal card.

This analyzer has been sent to Emerson for further investigation once I am demob. This is my 1st experience for this fault and sad to say that it is happen while i am in offshore assignment.

If this thread is read by Emerson people, do have a feedback on this issue here for us to share what is happening.

I also read the thread that suggested by "John from PA" while I am in offshore, but at last it is propose to contact Emerson. Hehe.

I am waiting for Emerson to feedback on this issue. I will update if any.

Anyhow, thanks to you Mr. Ralph for the reply.

Hope you get it solved soon.

With the new information you posted, it does sound like a problem inside the meter rather than with you computer software, especially since a different analyzer seems to work ok.

Thanks,

Ralph

Yup. Will update once I got the information why this happen to the meter.

Thanks Ralph
