Ludeca and Easy Laser

Bill Kilbey ·
Apparently Ludeca will become the Easy Laser distributor. I wonder if they will still have Pruftechnik vibration analyzers? More change.

My sales rep said Ludeca is suing the manufacturer to remain the distributor, I guess they don't want to sell easy laser. Bill, have you heard if cascade is staying on as the easy laser rep now? I'm just wondering where I'll get our tools calibrated in the spring.

That's interesting information about them suing. I had not heard that. I'm sure Cascade will remain the North American master distributor for now. Long term, it might be interesting to see what happens. You should call Cascade and ask them, as I am no longer associated with them,

I believe Ludeca has always been just a distributor, but not sure of the details. Pruftechnik may have plans to go direct sales with vibration and laser equipment lines, in North America at least.

Until recently, I was working with the current North American Master Distributor, Cascade MVS. They were told Ludeca would be the new master distributor in 2016. It makes sense, as it looks like Pruftechnik is starting to setup for direct sales in North America. Maybe Mikael Terner of EasyLaser or Frank Seidenthal of Ludeca can answer the question better. I'm sure a formal announcement can't be far away unless something has changed from 3 weeks ago when I was told.

Walt, Regarding listing pros and cons for our existing units is irrelevant due to the age of the units. Why would we choose a brand we do not have? - It only seems practical to way all options with all units - new and old. Yes, I do understand what features would add value for my team - I did not want to lead/restrict opinions. Yes I am an experienced user in my past but also open to "constructive" feedback from those that utilize these tools on a daily basis. I appreciate your time in...

Laser Shaft Alignment - Recommendations

Bassnjunky ·
I am currently looking to upgrade our Laser Alignment tools. We currently have several different brands and we will standardize on one. Just seeking end users experience with different brands, not looking for sales pitch. Any info is appreciated. Items we are looking at, ease of use, ease of downloading, battery life, etc..

If you have several different brands already, why can't you make a list of pros and cons and choose amongst them? Why would you even consider choosing a brand that you don't even have it all? Do you even know what features are important to you? Have you personally used each of these brands your company has, or are you relying on the user experience from others in your company? What upgrade features do you think are really important for the types of equipment and personnel skill levels you...

Well ask yourself this 1. whats the maximum span between measurement points you need? 2.do you have a vertical alignment requirement? 3. Do you need to align a multiple train e.g motor gearbox Pump/fan/etc? or is it simpler machines? Motor coupling Pump/fan etc? 4.Do you require the ability to generate conformance reports from the aligned equipment?

We use the Pruftechnic Rotalign IS. However, we are an alignment consulting group. We use all the features of the box, shaft alignment, bore alignment, vertical machine alignment, level alignment, etc. It is also NIST traceable which is a requirement for some of our projects.

I also feel like IrishMark. Figure out what you need to accomplish with the alignment goals you need. Write down that list. Then bring in different vendors to demo their products. Prufteknik Rotalign Ultra iS are great machines (we use them here) But not everyone needs everything that it can do. There are many companies selling alignment systems... Some work great for very basic get it in the ballpark alignment. But you get what you pay for. Don't get hung up on cost alone. If the alignment...

We have a TKSA 11 as well. Comparing that to a rotoalign is like comparing a Yugo to a Ferrari. They both serve a purpose. The interface on the TKSA 11 is the easiest I have used. I could teach someone with little alignment experience to use it in 5 minutes, however, it is very limited in the span between measurement points....I have begun to appreciate the companies that take a product like an iPad and use it for our purposes. The cost savings and ability to update the products quickly is...

What types of machines are you aligning? Something that is close coupled (motor direct drive to a pump) or at the other extreme a cooling tower drive with a 25 foot composite shaft? It can make a difference and you haven't specified what you are aligning or the industry type.

No experience here in doing alignments, but now looking into getting a laser alignment system. Currently on the list is a Rotalign Ultra IS, Easy Laser E710, and a Fixturlaser NXA Pro. For you guys that do alignments what is your tool of choice. If you were to buy one today, what would you buy and why. Id like to try not to end up with something that will be regretted later. Something that will be important is the report generation feature, and I'm thinking that an emitter and receiver on...

I haven't used or seen the Rotalign Ultra IS, but I have been using Pruftechnik Equipment for the last 7 years, and wouldn't recommend anything else. We currently use the Optalign. I like the quick report features, the wireless heads, and the maintenance workers find it simple to use.

If you just intend horizontal alignments and don't require atex compliance I would recommend an SKF TKSA41. I have just come off a day training guys in the operation of it and yeah while I am biased....I can say with confidence it's a very user-friendly and capable unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQxjYplrsRg

The Rotalign device is regarding to me the best choice at all. If you want, you can use the Rotalign heads technology with Emerson CSI2140 device. Pruftechnik was an inventor of these technology. That is the reason all other uses more-laser/detector technology. The Rotalign system is very precise and can easy reach/meet excellent results. Few times I compare any other system with Rotalign. Results was always very acurate, repetitive and quite easy to take/measure. As you can read on an old...

I have a TKSA 80 and a Hamar Laser Stealth S680 both gets the job done, ive also used the Stealth S650. But i prefer the S680 over the tksa80 Pros. Reporting is easy and clear, pdf format ready to email on site. Windows 10 tablet, if it brakes on site easy to replace with any other pc/tablet/laptop. Bluetooth range is great, bluetooth on TKSA80 you have to keep sensors and tablet close to each other or direct view or else will have conection problem. Complete history of the machine, for a...
