Hello Would anyone with experience both the 2140 and the VIBXPERT II (and their associated software) weigh in with a basic comparison/opinion of the two? I was asked this recently and I didn't feel I could give them a fair answer since I'm only familiar Emonitor Condition Monitoring Software and Dynamix 2500 equipment. Does anyone feel that one is far superior than the other (or only slightly better) and why? Thank you PK.
I worked with a Vibexpert II for 5 years and switched jobs. I've now been working with the CSI 2140 for 6 months. In my opinion the vibexpert II is better suited for the experienced analyst. It's not the most user friendly unit, but it can do anything you need and everything is adjustable. The 2140 is more "dummy proof" it tries to do a lot of things for you. I find it a hassle to diagnose equipment that is not part of a vibration route with the 2140. The manual analyze mode is horrible, and...
Having used both CSI and Pruftechnik systems extensively as well as Entek (Rockwell) I can add the following: The VibXpert II unit itself has an easier "flow" with machine visuals for adhoc one off analysis capabilities. So if your a troubleshooter only doing one off inspections this unit has strong bang for the buck. The VibXpert II is a strong performer for balancing with easy visuals as is the 2140 however has two channels not 4 like the 2140. Emerson AMS suite (CSI) is FAR superior in...
To all, I am planning to buy the Triaxial Sensor of VibXpertII which is the Vib 6.655 and i just want to know the price of the sensor, i just had contact with my supplier but they give me a 500$ for the price. see below for the picture. regards, RG

Hello All 1. I am considering to use MCSA for site motor testing. Can anyone guide me about the basics in terms of approx cost, effectiveness and etc. 2. Any experience (good/bad) of using this technology for motor diagnostics ? 2. We use Vibxpert 2 for daily vibration data collection. If we can use this analyser for MCSA by connecting current clamp onto it ? Regards
Hi Masood, Yes. You can use VibXpert II for MCSA testing and analyzing. However, it will be better if you have CSA tool for evaluating electrical faultzones of motor/generator. Because, beside you can analyze squirrel cage rotor condition, you are also capable for knowing the condition of air-gap, stator winding, power circuit, power quality... of motor/generator. We are using MCEmax of PdMA, and get highly effeciency in our CBM program. Regards, Lampard.
A clamp-on current transformer needs to have a voltage output with good frequency response. I use an inexpensive Fluke clamp-on (now quite old) with a home-made resistor box (typically 10 to 20 ohms) to get volts output. Make sure the analyzer is set to voltage input and not ICP voltage turned on (accelerometer). There is plenty of good information on Internet about MCSA. Make sure you have basic electrical training (or have assistant) when making the measurements. You can be successful at...
Dear All, How can I measure displacement using accelerators in VibXpert II using route (double integration). I have tried to make a new task template but it required displacement sensor to measure displacement. Can anybody guide me how to do that?
