I have not aligned a NTM. If there are multiple flexible shaft couplings, then there are two procedures to consider:

1) laser measurement at each coupling (like most machines)

2) laser (or optical) transit of each bearing housing to common reference point

I did align a 65-ft long machine train with 7-couplings. I measured each coupling with laser-optical system. I then determined the best moves (H and V) of each component by graphical scale drawing and calculated with spreadsheet. It was not possible to start at one end and align each component, since the last component move would be too much (off the foundation!). It was better to start in the middle and work way to each end after each component move (H and V) was calculated.
