Data acquisation with Laptops

Dear members ,

Does any one of you using USB data acquisition hardware and software for laptop to aces the special Vibration & Noise problems  and for application development and testing like MCSA ,Laser alignment ,Partial discharge,Balancing etc .

I have seen some applications and developments by using National Instrument data  acquisition modules .Could you please suggest or share your experience .

I use a DT9837A 4-channel & Tachometer USB DAQ connected to a Microsoft Surface Pro-5 with rugged case, and I develop apps with DASYLab Pro software. DASYLab is now owned by National Instruments and is similar to LabView. It is less expensive and easier to use.

Yes, it is all possible with a lot of work! I have used these sensors: accelerometers, proximity probes, LVDT, torque and thrust shaft strain gages with telemetry, microphones, static and dynamic pressure, current (MCSA), tachometers, and temperature. I developed a custom balancing application that includes weight calculations, ISO criteria, variable speed test, and impact test. I developed a custom application for a precision bearing manufacturer to measure contact angle for product quality control. It is based on measurements of sound and shaft speed (only two sensors). Best of luck looking into the products and possibilities!
