During the winter months, I got a bit bored and started to create an Excel file to take care of most (fairly simple) balance jobs.
I wanted a "one-stop" app that I could use to take care of estimating TW size, determine approx. TW location, single-plane and two-plane balancing as well as a sheet to determine balance with the 4-run method (further, I did not want to limit myself to the standard 120 deg TW locations since you can't always get that in real world). I also wanted to provide the user with an estimation of the balance quality.
Read the instructions at the top of each tab/sheet.
Please provide feedback from on how well it works and suggested edits.

To that end, rev 4 fixes an issue brought up with sensor orientation on Static/Couple sheet (Left Horiz/Vert and Right Horiz/Vert) and also includes some quantitative information about percentage of static vs. dynamic on that same sheet.

I assume you mean two plane balancing....Yes
The Excel file has a tab at the bottom called 2PlaneBalancing
Enter data in the green boxes and the results are presented in the two graphs below the data entry boxes. Your trial weights in red squares and the calculated correction weights in green circles.
You may also wish to use the "Static Couple" tab once you get your original balance data. It doesnt solve for balance but gives you a graphic view of how much is due to static or couple
As my understanding, intial run-1, tw-1 on plane -, take run, and remove tw-1 on plane -1, tw2 on plane-2, take run and remove tw-2 on plane 2 and last is correction run.Total 4 runs required, and this is only at one particular speed only can done.
Can any tell me this software is working properly, any one tried and got good result?
If we want to select multiple speeds, any software is there?
I used Static Couple method only to reduce housing vibrations/pedestal vibrations,
This can be checked for 1X shaft vibrations also?

It should be used only on 1xTS
It's for single speed static or couple
It works fine.
If you want multiple speed u guess you could do one sheet per speed.

We are changing to metric, just doing it inch by inch.
Perhaps the next revision will include metric units in the drop-down list....millimeter by millimeter

Jim, when you open your latest revision you get presented with a message reading "This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe". You are then presented with the options to Update, Don't Update, and Help.
When you examine the link or links being referred to, you will find it is the spreadsheet I sent you some time ago for the static couple tab. You can examine what the workbook is after by going to the Data tab, then Edit Links, and you will see what I think was my old workbook (static_couple balancing worksheet.xls) listed.
For the next revision I suggest while on that page (Data tab > Edit Links) you select "Break Link" and then save the workbook. That should eliminate the message in the future.

OK folks Here is the latest (hopefully last) revision
1. It fixes the bug with the Weight Splitting Sheet. It now references the proper user-input cells and adds more metric units in a few of the drop-down menus
2. It adds two new sheets, Basic Calculations and Severity Charts. I did not go into details on the Severity Charts. The user should be familiar with the contractual and technical requirements for your own balancing jobs. I simply attached images for convenience, which I consider to be "fair use" of images normally found on the web
3. The latest file is macro-enabled which was needed to automate scaling for the 4-run balancing method. Previous revisions required the user to manually adjust scaling of the X and Y axis parameters (i.e. min and max bounds) for some balancing examples. This can still be done but a macro was introduced to automate this process and ensure both the X and Y axis scales were identical. See the amplifying instructions on how to use.
Unless there are technical bugs to fix, I am done putting any more effort into this file. It should be sufficient for most common balance jobs and met my intent of having a one-stop shop.......more important things to start on . Feel free to edit and improve if any of you have some other ideas

Jim, I have found that self-dosing with quinine mixed with an organic solvent seems to work wonders in eliminating anxiety and stress. Should you chose to do so, you can additionally supplement with a naturally occurring source of ascorbic acid which has some indication of reducing the incidence of respiratory problems. That however is unproven. Even before Covid-19 I found these measures to have a late day positive benefit in relieving stress so I've upped my dosage in light of the current situation.
By the way, should you not be into chemistry, this is sometimes known as an orange blossom if you use orange juice (ascorbic acid); leave it out and you have a simple gin & tonic.
