The Facilities Department’s mission is to create and sustain, innovative environments and deliver high quality services to support a productive County government and community.
The Department oversees several divisions, including Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, Facilities Planning, Design+Construction, Fleet Management, Business Operations, and Physical Security. The Department is responsible for managing and implementing the recently approved Strategic Facilities Master Plan on major capital projects, and serves as an internal consultant to units, divisions, and departments/agencies of the County concerning facilities issues.
The county seeks an exceptional Director who can anticipate and identify challenges, develops solutions and direction through collaboration, knows current and cutting-edge facilities management practices and trends. The successful candidate should provide confident, clear, solution focused guidance and mentorship, while also empowering and trusting staff.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and university with major course work in architecture, planning, engineering, facilities management, or a closely related field. The candidate also must have ten years of progressively more responsible facilities management experience, preferably in the public sector, including five years leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others.
