ATS is looking for a Field Engineering Technician that specializes in Vibration to support the development and validation of electronic and electrical components in the field and the vibration labs located in Mossville, IL for a Fortune 50 company. You would be working with the customer, design engineer, and appropriate staff to acquire operational data, presenting the information, and assisting in the development of test objectives and instrumentation plans.
Responsibilities include:
Acquire operational data in form of vibration, temperature, and pressure, etc on Caterpillar engines and vehicles.
Efficiently and effectively processing and interpreting test data, and answer customer questions that are relevant to the data.
Performing and documenting vibrations tests within lab and field environments of electronic and electrical system components.
Providing design, procurement, and maintenance of the fixturing required for vibration development and validation.
Manage the electronics vibration lab with respect to scheduling, test set-up, and debugging, monitoring in process testing, performing a preliminary assessment of test results, and preparing those results in written formats.
Maintaining, repairing, and calibrating the required instruments, equipment, and related facilities.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in engineering or technology, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, and/or equivalent combination of experience strongly preferred
Experience with mechanical measurement, instrumentation, and data reduction required
Understanding of dynamics is required
Experience with Caterpillar DATK preferred
Knowledge of synchronous rotating system dynamics, higher frequency mechanical dynamics, solids design software (ProE), and digital signal processing preferred
Ability to work well in team environments
Ability to multi-task
Willingness to travel to local facilities and customer job sites in both North America and oversea locations
