oil analysis tolerance

hello:
now our plant plan to replace oil analysis supplier,so we choose two suppliers and sample the same oil, but the result from two company is different, including Viscosity、TAN、Moisture and additive element, just PQ indicator is the same.
I am not sure if there are some tolerance for oil analysis or not? if so, what's the standard we can accept?

If there are tolerance it should be still close to accurate. if the lab that conducts the oil test has quality certification then we can say that the test results speaks for the oil. unless something happen that affected the sample which i think was unlikely happened right? SO whats left is for you to decide what you need from the oil and the cost comparison. imo
We had the same thing happen to us. It seems to be an industry phenomenon… IMOHO.. One would think a D445 viscosity test would yield consistent results no matter which lab did the testing but as you have pointed out, and many of us customers have routinely witnessed, something is obviously different. For us it came down to the Lab’s ISO certification records, their Analyst’s certification records, and faith that their periodic quality auditing procedure is legitimate and current. ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is one such Laboratory certification and ICML certification for Analysts and Lube Techs is widely accepted as creditable. In the end, diligence and the customer/client relationship will make or break an off-site lubrication testing program. We hope to add on-site testing in the near future. At the very least, we want to check viscosity and water content. With that said, PLEASE DO NOT SPAM ME WITH PROPSOALS!!
Oceandeep,

How big the difference is?
Each of test is having specific "Repetability" and "Reproduceability".

for instant:
Repeatability : Tolerance different, tested by different analyst inside A LAB
Reproduceability : Tolerance different, tested by different analyst, and different LAB

you can ask it to your lab.
As long as the different is still under coverage of the tolerance, it is acceptable

But if the different is too big,... the decission is yours
you know better about your equipment
