Position Summary:
Responsibilities:
This position provides subject matter expertise to the POC regarding fossil and/or nuclear plant equipment performance. The Predictive Technologies Specialist, Sr Specialist, or Principal Specialist has primary responsibility for the assessment of critical asset performance and condition, for the implementation and interpretation of asset performance/condition software applications and models for components deemed critical to power generation across the fleet, for the design and specification of predictive technology applications throughout Luminant Power, and may coordinate or oversee the work of other Luminant staff and contract employees. This position is directly accountable to the POC Equipment Reliability Manager, but ultimately provides support to the management teams of fossil and/or nuclear plants.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Perform equipment condition assessments utilizing predictive maintenance technology applications for data collection and analysis.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations to assist in the resolution of plant equipment performance issues.
Develop and deploy equipment performance and condition assessment tools for plant components critical for reliable power generation.
Support the development of business cases for capital improvements and repairs to enhance equipment availability and reliability.
Serve as application owner and subject matter expert of select Predictive Technology applications as appropriate.
Provide consultation and training to nuclear and fossil plants and plant support organizations regarding the design, specification, and implementation of state-of-the-art predictive technology applications.

Requirements
Requirements (Grade 12/13/14):
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six/eight/ten years nuclear or fossil plant experience, OR ten/fifteen/seventeen years related fossil or nuclear power plant experience.
P. E. License and/or MS degree in Engineering (Grade 14)
Four/six/ten years experience in the acquisition and analysis of predictive maintenance data for power plant turbomachinery and other major components.
Certification as an ISO 18436.2 Category II Vibration Analyst or Technical Associates of Charlotte Level 2 (Grade 12).
Certification as an ISO 18436.2 Category III Vibration Analyst or Technical Associates of Charlotte Level 3 (Grade 13).
Certification as an ISO 18436.2 Category IV Vibration Analyst (Grade 14).
Working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance principles and practices.
Working knowledge of contemporary telecommunications technologies.
Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of major power plant equipment.
Familiarity with emerging diagnostic technologies throughout industry.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office products and PI.
Desired:
Experience with advanced analytics software applications such as SmartSignal.
Measures of Success:
Become recognized as a valuable corporate resource for the performance/condition assessment of critical plant equipment, as evidenced by client, peer, and management feedback received through both formal and informal channels.
Deliver organizational work products within budget, on schedule, and meeting quality expectations.
