We are having issues with a pump extension box plugging off. Does anyone have any recommendations for flushing/cleaning?

Are you referring to mechanical seal area of your pump? Make, model, product being pumped?

This is a boiler feed water pump, an Ingersoll Rand 5HTMA. The stuffing box extension is where the packing is, and it is the purge water porting that is blocked.

Some pics of what you are seeing would help. There are options to resolve this issue, the above links are some solutions in different pumping applications. Is this a mechanical seal? Packing? what is plugging? What are you pumping?
