We are looking for a replacement grease for our steam turbine grease system which services both the lower temp zones such as the turbine slides and valve linkages as well as the high temp areas such as the HP and IP valve crossheads. The grease is supplied by an automated/timed grease pump and is fed via a range of pipwork an metering blocks.

The grease we use currently although it has presented us with little problems is considered to be a fire risk. We have been recommeded ROCOL MX550 although testing of this grease suggests a drop point of around 160 degrees which suggests it would run out of our slides rather than staying put.

Any suggestions for a high temp grease that is resistant to hardening in our greasways and is able to provide the lubrication we require?

regards

Gary
