Folks,

Looking for a technical paper that will clarify what myself and others at my service center have known for years...namely that a 'T' cross section oil ring is unreliable in a 3600 rpm motor.  We removed and replaced every one we found on incoming motors with trapazoidal shaped rings.  We would assure the ID bore was clean and circular and then we would chamfer the sides of the ring to a 10 degree angle to prevent the ring from getting 'stuck' to the walls of the bearing.  Appreciate any information you folks may have out there.

Regards,

Ron Brook
