According to this case study,

They had backward whirling during cost down and couse to drop  resonance frequency .so it mentioned that this ocoures  because of asymmetric bearing or nonlinerity stiffness . My question is what is the another source of backward whirl ? 

Can it phenomenia help us to machin fault dedtection ?  For example excessive bearing clearance or etc
