Equipment Hierachy
Registered Member Hi Panuphan, Just like to share, from reliability engineer's perspective. Ideally, plants should start with relatively good asset hierarchy from Day One. But as you know, under the pressure to start up, this is rarely the case. As months turn to years, the subject becomes an after-thought. Maintenance, Operations, and plant Management no longer have the apetite for a review. So, the Reliability group is left with a pretty messed up asset structure in the CMMS. For a start, try looking at ISO... [ more ]
Registered Member Equipment Hierarchy depend on the following information, are: 1. Standard of numbering/tag number of equipment if you have,if not you should make this standard first 2. Equipment for pump or motor depend on your guideline/SOP in your functional location Hierarchy, if motor position part/component of motor is that mean motor level will be below pump but if same pump and motor will be same level if you assume pump and motor as equipment. 3. The Functional Location Hierarchy you can starts from... [ more ]

Conditon monitoring and engineering asset management
Registered Member The answer to your question may be to look for fit for purpose software with or without capability to register assets like transformers and generators. Ideally, I would like to the software to be able to read the same asset register in the CMMS like SAP PM without duplication. There is a software for motor management mentioned in this forum but it looks like it requires a separate asset register from the CMMS. [ more ]

Elipse VS SAP and all the rest

It is a full featured EAM complete with Asset and Work Management, Financials, Procurement, Materials, etc...some companies and organizations use it entirely for their entire ERP / EAM. We use a flexable analysis created in PM which is based on MCI8 that gets you everything you need except notification number. NRX with SAP PM
Registered Member I've been developing a guiXT interface to easier main used screens on PM. Users are quite happy so far. (they've been using SAP standard for 2 years... so obvisously it's a huge difference a step forward for them). Development is not very complex and can be handle smoothly. As anything you can develop huge complex processes, but most if you want to restrict to simplify screens (remove unused fields) and combined couple of transactions, it works perfectly (assuming your users are not afraid... Registered Member LinkOne for SAP hangs out in the same space as NRX. I think it runs stand alon, but is more useful when used inside the components selection screen in work orders. You can drill into a plant from an aeriel or start at the equipment level. Thats what I saw in a demo anyway. GuiXT is more about reducing the number of screens/menus in SAP that you would encounter out of the box. So, I gues it depaend on what you're looking for. Here is a link to LinkOne.
