What are the main benefits of IoT technology for industrial businesses
Registered Member I think something we overlook and don't realise with IOT technology is that it completely changes the dynamic of how a buisness works regardless of industry. take for instance a simple vibration sensors with cloud capabilities which has alarm limits set and a data trend history - by itself it can tell you in real time what's happening to the specific location giving a 24/7 window of opportunity to not only view the previous history also to view when a projected issue might occur as the mm/s... Shaft speed measurement using magnetometer
Registered Member I have not found any document. I think the application is limited to motors only. [ more ]
Registered Member I'm not familiar with this brand. Is there any explanatory document on how this casing sensor would measure the shaft speed? Regards- Ali M. Al-Shurafa [ more ]
Registered Member Any rotating shaft; it is mentioned here that magnetometer is used for speed measurement https://petasense.com/wp-conte...roduct-Datasheet.pdf [ more ]

Dynamic range
Registered Member I went back to an old (perhaps too old) manual form IRD and found this specification for another (but similar model). Your model is Model 546DP while the below specs are for Model 544. I've also checked an old 546DP to measure how much the rod can retract and extend. The span I found is about 0.5". I hope this helps a little. Regards- Ali M. Al-Shurafa [ more ]
Registered Member This probe is less commonly used nowadays. I saw it mounted on large machinery like forced draft fans in power plants where the speed is relatively low. It's more common on balancing machines (feild or shop) specially from IRD. Some portable (route) vibration programs use this type of probe also. I can't give a definite answer to your question but my guess based on my understanding of this sensor is that the dynamic range (125 mil pp) would be the reliable reading range from the generated...
